MSc in 1962 at the Civil Engineering Department, Technical University of Lodz, (PL, Lodz, Poland).

Graduated in 1965 at the Technical University of Lodz (Poland). Field: Continuous Models of Discrete Systems.

Habilitation in 1970 in the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFTR, Warsaw, Poland). Field: Nonlocal Continuum Mechanics.

Main research fields: axiomatic and kinetic foundations of continuum thermodynamics, theory of mixtures, phase transformations in solids, non-newtonian fluids, acoustic waves in continua, crystal plasticity and the evolution of textures, thermodynamics of porous materials.

Some visiting posts: postgraduate at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA, 1969-70), visiting professor at the University of Baghdad (Iraq, 1972-74), von Humboldt stipend (Germany, 1979), fellow at Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (WIKO) (Germany, 1984-1985), visiting professor at the University of Paderborn (Germany, 1986-87), research fellow at the University of Hamburg-Harburg (Germany, 1987-90), the Technical University of Berlin (Germany, 1991-92), and the University of Essen (1992-1996).

Lady Davis Prize (Lady Davis) - research at Technion, Haifa (Israel, 2006) with Prof. M. Rubin and Prof. B. Landkof; teaching graduate courses on thermodynamics.

First-Grade Prize of the Rector of the University of Zielona Gora for scientific achievments in the year 2008
